How To Make 2024 The Best Year As A Freelance Photographer

Here’s my honest prediction for 2024:

Demand for freelance photographers is only going to skyrocket!

More disposable income, a rising need to capture every milestone in life, and the love of prints coming back, will fuel this growing demand.

So if you are gearing up as a newbie or scaling your existing photography business, here's a handy checklist of all the steps you need before making this the best year your business has seen.

1. Website

  • Showcase all your latest work

  • Check for any broken links or error 404s

  • Include your contact email, social media channels, and location.

  • Design and align projects with the kind of clients you want to work with.

2. Email

  • Make sure none of your emails bounce back.

  • Research potential new clients to reach out to in the coming year.

  • Update your client list ( has anyone moved on or gone out of business?)

3. Gear and systems:

  • Evaluate your systems (Accounting, Lead-Gen, Onboarding, etc.)

  • If possible, check for alternate, more efficient options.

  • Invest in people (Coach, Virtual Assistant, CPA, etc.)

4. Self-Care

  • Write down professional and personal development goals for the year.

  • Plan your self-care calendar for the whole year.

  • Set aside time for your passion projects.

That’s it!

If you need a regular reminder, print this article and keep checking it off as you finish each task.

And get ready to make it your best one yet!
